The Caveman Scholarship is hosted through the Outpost Foundation and is pleased to award an academic scholarship to eligible employees and immediate family members of the clubs who have worked with Caveman Construction.
Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for the scholarship. The student must:
1. Have been employed by a club that has worked with Caveman Construction and been employed full or part time (20-40+ hours per week) since at least June 8th, 2026. You will be considered if you continue your employment through the season OR you must be an “immediate” family member of an employee at one of these clubs.
2. Be considered a student in good standing (with a suggested grade point average of 2.75 or above) and is enrolled full-time in high-school, has graduated from high school or has obtained their US GED at the time of application (attach transcripts or official record); OR is enrolled full-time as a college student at the undergraduate level with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 at the time of application (attach transcripts or official record) OR is enrolled in an accredited mechanical or technical trade school.
Application Process
Application materials must be received by July 8, 2026 in order to be considered for the upcoming academic year. The following materials need to be submitted by the application deadline:
1. Completed application form
2. One letter of reference or recommendation from a supervisor at your club or the immediate family member’s club.
3. Transcript OR Letter of Acceptance at an accredited 4-year college/ university or 2-year community college OR proof of enrollment in a mechanical or technical trade school program.
4. Personal Statement - In your personal statement to us we would like you to write (we would prefer a handwritten statement, but it can be typed if you prefer - make sure that we can read it) to us about a recent decision that you needed to make within the last 6 months and what you learned from that experience. In this statement help us to learn about you and why this was important to you. Please scan your statement to us.
Selection Process
The Caveman Scholarship committee, along with the Outpost Foundation’s scholarship committee, will determine the recipients of the scholarships based on application materials provided.
For those moving on in the process, phone interviews (phone/Zoom) will be scheduled during the last two weeks of July.
All scholarship applicants will be notified of the joint committee’s decision in the beginning of August 2026.
Award
A one time stipend payable directly to the recipient for help in funding their studies will be awarded as follows:
We will be giving away at least eight scholarships to individuals enrolled in an accredited college (undergraduate program) OR enrolled in a mechanical or trade school.
We will be giving away $65,000 to our applicants for the 2026 Caveman Scholarships. This money will be distributed as the committee deems equitable for each recipient. With the top prize being $15,000 and a low end prize of $2,500. We will be giving out a total of at least 8 scholarships. We are very thoughtful and purposeful in this process and we look forward to reading your applications and awarding the scholarships.
